4Play Premiere fish!

Our good freind and fieldtester Morten Guzek - had one incredible premiere this may - 2 trip's counted 100+fish testing new lures and gold old favorites - one of the topfish was this immaculate 11kg+ pike that hammered the 19cm 4play Swim & Jerk in Zander color! One more super fish for Morten!

Battles at Krieger

Danes Klaus, Rasmus and Sune visited Krieger this weekend in their little trolling boat. They searched for salmon, and they tried a multitude of different lures. The ones that really worked were the Flat Jack and Prey lures. They accounted for the best fish of the trip - among them this incredible 11 kilo chromer caught by Sune. It really slammed the Prey lure, and it delivered a hectic fight with lots of heady runs.

Massive bass on the Top Prey

There is a saying that it is not always about the fish, but about fishing!
I had the pleasure of spending a day of bass fishing with a talented young Croatian angler Ivan Jozek. After a while, it became apparent that topwater bite will be on and I handed new Top Prey 80 to Ivan . As soon as he saw it, he said it would be a killer zara for bass. It didn't take long before Ivan smashed his first bass and it was a big one!
This zara walks perfectly easy, has incredibly realistic flash, perfectly tuned high pitched rattle and high quality trebles...
I enjoyed this catch as much as Ivan did, especially seeing him catching multiple fish and not taking this lure off for the whole day....its not always about the fish, its about fishing!

Pollock love Sandeels

From Irvin Kilde, we have the following report:
April is pollack-time here in central Norway, and we've been testing out several spots in search of the real big ones. During an hour of intense action last night, several 3-4 kg pollacks were landed, but Sverre hooked into a bigger fish with his Real Pearl Sand Eel 42 gr. After a tedious fight with the constant risk of snagging in big rocks, the fish surfaced and we could finally get an idea of the size. Adrenaline was possibly even higher as we saw the girth as the fish was netted! The ripe female pollack was weighed at 8350 grams and released shortly after. Massive cod on the Cutbait

Danish fishing guide Christian Klagenberg has enjoyed massive success fishing the Soroya area in Norway the last week. The Cutbait Herring has provided unparalleled action with some extremely aggressive takes from bulky cod.
Christian has landed several 25kilo+ fish with a few passoing the 30kil mark - simply incredible!

15.8 kilo salmon

Check out this massive salmon caught by the guys at Boddenabenteuer in Germany. The new Savage Gear Trolling Rods performed incredibly for this Baltic salmon and the Okuma Clarion did a fantastic job too. The fish weighed 15,18 kilos, and it delivered an incredibly hectic fight with lots of insisting runs.

Massive Croatian catfish

Hi guys, here is the latest from our Croatian Savage Gear consultant, Dalien Vignjevic.
'I'm so proud to file this report, because this capture is what target fishing for trophy specimens is all about.
Its about stalking feeding spots and wait for the moment when that big fish is catchable. Right location, persistence, proper technique, good lure, convincing tackle and of course some luck is what you need to score that trophy!
I was around some trophy cats on my section of the river Sava for some time, and I knew the rising water temps would get them on shallower sand bars. A few of my previous sessions ended with smaller cats, it was just the ideal timing to connect with big one.
I called my buddy Zlatko Ranogajec to join me in the boat that Sunday and told him we are going for the big silure which he took seriously and set up a stout fishing combo for the job - Savage Gear MP pro 2,7 40-100gr rod, Okuma Salina 55 reel, and PP 30LB Braid. The bait was a 10cm Savage Gear Cannibal rigged on a strong weedless flippin` jig hook.
As we made a drift along the most promising stretch Zlatko`s lure was pulled hard in the middle of the water column on the initial fall after a cast quite near the bank! He set the hook readily and after some slack due to the fish swimming towards us, we connected with the fish and the fight begun. We realized it was a big fish right away and we played it as a team with both Zlatko`s rod pressure and my boat positioning.
After some half an hour the fish was ready for landing. It turned out to be one of the biggest silure caught on this stretch of river using spinning tackle, measuring a whopping 205 cm with an estimated weight of 50-60 kg!
Im especially proud of the clip where - beside Zlatko`s great landing skills and my boat positioning, the brutal strain put to the Savage Gear/Okuma combo can clearly be seen. The tackle withstood 30 minutes of heavy load flawlessly and could deal even with some more...
What a nice memory...

Bass on the Sandeel Slug

Savage Gear consultant, Marco Giudici, is on a roll these days. Here he is with an extremely fat and well-conditioned bass weighing 3 kilos with a length of 54cm. The fish was caught with a Sandeel Slug fished closely to some sunken trees. The gear used was a Bushwhacker 15-42g, Adrenaline HD 0.22, 100% Fluorocarbon 0.18, and an Okuma Trio FD.

Another monster for Rob

Rob Kew has been at it again after having landed a massive 40lb fish on a Soft 4Play. Here is what he has to say about his latest catch:
'I have just ended my season with this beautiful 26lb 8oz pike and thought I would share it with you. She took the exact same lure that I had the 40 on - the Soft 4Play in perch pattern, which I am now going to have to retire from service due to "wear and tear"!!!! I backed it up with 2 jacks that may have just scraped double figures'.
