Summer time Action!

Danish angler, Claus B. Larsen, was fortunate enough to get a few test cast's with some of the 2011 Savage lures - The 16cm Deviator in the new Popeye concept - made with a special painting and "popped" eyes - produced immidiately! An evening session on the local lake produced 2 biggies - the one pictured a superb summer fish - 9kg+ - the other biggie will follow soon - so keep your eyes on this site!

Another massive Herring Cutbait-Halibut

Christian Klagenberg – who is a very experienced saltwater fisherman and guide – has just returned from an extremely successful trip to Northern Norway targeting big halibut. Christian was fishing a new area with his trusted Herring Cutbaits. Over 15 meters of water, everything suddenly stood still, and the lure was helplessly stuck. Christian pulled back on the line and all of a sudden the bottom came to life.
A massive fish started to move about below, and a long and tiring fight began. Full of adrenaline, Christian hung on the best he could, and after what seemed like forever, the fish was ready to be landed. The fish was massive - and safely on board, it was measured to a staggering 197 cm. According to a recently published list on www.fish4u.se, Christian's fish is the third biggest caught this year. It marks another success for the Herring Cutbait, which has accounted for all of the fish in the top five for the biggest halibut-list on www.fish4u.se. |

Hard work with soft lures

Danny Parkins and his fishing buddy has just returned from a weeks shore fishing the southwest coast of ireland for Pollock with light lure rods and grubs and shads. Danny used a pair of Savage Gear Road Runner spinning rods loaded with 4000 size reels and 30lb braid, and the results were amazing.
-Between the two of us, we nailed over 500 Pollock - 300plus of which weighed 4 to 6lb - with a dozen Pollock over the 6lb mark. My biggest Pollock landed from the rocks weighed a whopping 8lb 7oz! We fished exposed cliffs and rock faces out in the wild Atlantic Ocean on the beara.
Numerous times, we landed a fish in every cast. And it went to the point where on some marks, we landed six or seven 5lb plus fish one after the other. Our arms ached with pain as these fish would crash dive 30 odd foot back down to the reefs. Even with the drags on full and hands on the spools, we could not stop most of the Pollock from running under the rod tip.
We also caught cuckoo wrasse, ballan wrasse, bass and mackerel - as well as a first for me and an extremely rare catch from the shore on lures - a decent John Dory!! All fish were caught on the Savage Gear grubs in four inch, 4-5inch, Cannibal Shads and Dying Minnows. |

Savage Devil Fish!

Swedish, Johan Mikkelsen, who studies at the KY Sportsfishing Academy in Forshaga has been testing the famous Herring Cutbaits, and he has had massive success. While fishing with Nordic Sea Angling he has landed a series of impressive fish that went mad for the enticing, unparalleled movements of the Herring Cutbait. First off, he landed a Savage Devil fish weighing an amazing 11,4kg - a mean looking beast that hammered the lure.
Next up was a gigantic cod measuring 147 cm, a fish that was relatively slim. Caught at the right time of year, this monster cod would have weighed in the vicinity of 40 kilos. It will be interesting to see what this avid young fisherman will catch next!

Fantastic Zanders on live bait and SG Soft Flex Wire

Few Danish fishermen have caught as many big Zanders as Steen Lyngsøe and there are no signs that Steen will be slowing down any time soon. He recently visited a great Danish Zander lake with big fish specialist Peder Lichtenberg, and the two were fishing baitfish on combitraces made from Spectrum Flouro Carbon and 15lb SG Soft Flex Wire – a perfect solution for cautious Zanders. They landed a mind-boggling amount of Fish – 22 in total, and a lot of them weighed more than five kilos. The biggest one was landed by Steen and it measured 88cm and weighed 7,8 kilos – a truly impressive fish.

New Cutbait Colour tests are overwhelming

Guide and Savage Gear fanatic Per Jonasson has had the chance to test some new Herring Cutbait colours and the results have been very impressive. The lures have accounted for several weighty fish over the las couple of weeks and Per himself was lucky enough to land the biggest one. 194 centimeters long, the fish is one of the biggest landed so far this year. The two meter mark is within reach, and with the efficiency of the Herring Cutbait in mind, its just a matter of time before it gets inhaled by the BIG ONE!

The Joker is unstoppable.

Apparently, the Joker is impossible to stop at the moment. You have already heard about his recent salmon- and pike adventures, but now he has been at it again. With fishing buddy Nicki, he spent a full day of trolling fishing with Herring Spoons in the Simrishamn area and they ended up with a magnificent result.
Six fat and silvery salmon came on board the boat, and out of the six, two exceeded 10 kilos. The biggest one, a brutal fish of pure muscle, weighed a whopping 12 kilos.
The Herring Spoon has fast become a favorite among trolling fishermen, and it keeps impressing with its fantastic catches. It comes in 11 and 14cm versions and in 4 different weights, 19, 30, 40, and 60grams. There are 11 different deadly colors to chose.

The Joker is on a roll!

He has barely returned from Norway after having experienced some extremely productive pike fishing, but the Joker has already been at it again. This time he has been on a short trip to Simrishamn in Sweden, and the Joker did his magic once again. Three days of salmon trolling resulted in a relatively modest amount of salmon, but on the very last day the Joker managed to land a whopper of a salmon that weighed in at 15 kilos. The chrome beauty was caught on the incredibly effective Savage Gear Herring Spoon, and fishing buddy Henrik Lund landed the fish after a manic fight that tested both the Joker and his gear to the limit.

The Joker returns

Hi folks!
Just got back from a short trip to Norway. The plan was to guide the skilled pike angler Martin Olsen to his first Norwegian pike. I have fished the area before and therefore I had the plan and technique ready.
The technique was lure trolling, a very effetely way to locate and target fish. The plan succeeds and during the 4 days we caught over 100 pike, many small fish between 1-4 kg. But also a few monsters. All the fish was caught between 3 to 12 meters. The top fish was 7.4 kg. 7.8 kg. 10.1 kg. 11.8 kg. 12.4 kg (pictured).
And the last day a nice 13.1 kg.
The best lure on this trip was the butch in the 21 cm. version and off curse the alien eel.
The water was as usually in this lake quite murky and again the color code was Golden Ambulance, one of my favorite colors in murky water.
